Meet our Team!

K9 training concepts is proud of our team of pet lovers and dog trainers. Our staff are not only experienced dog trainers, but we are also excellent in working with your family to explain fundamentals of dog training in a way that is easy and fun for your family to learn how to have a well behaved dog.

Elise Lalor
Elise is the Owner and Lead Trainer of K9 Training Concepts. She began working with K9 Training Concepts in 2004. Prior to K9 Training Concepts Elise was a Senior Director for a large non-profit.

Elise has two certified Search and Rescue Dogs, Moose and Rocky. She is a resource for Santa Clara County Sheriff Office Search and Rescue team (SCCSSAR), California Rescue Dog Association (CARDA), Canine Specialized Search Team (CSST), and Yosemite Search and Rescue (YODOGS). Tim Houweling
Tim is a trainer with K9 Training Concepts. He joined the team in 2008. Prior to joining K9 Training Concepts, Tim was a Director with a global investment bank in San Francisco.

Tim has a certified Search & Rescue dog named Deuce, and is a resource for the Marin County Sheriff Search & Rescue team, the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office Emergency Services Detail, the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office Search & Rescue team, Yosemite Search and Rescue (YODOGS) and the California Rescue Dog Association (CARDA)

Tricia Clarkson
Tricia is an assistant trainer with K9 Training Concepts and began working with us in 2009. Clarkson is a graduate of Bergin University of Canine Studies, is a certified Service Dog Trainer for people with Disabilities, and has helped raise and train four service dogs. Tricia has worked as a clinic attendant/technician at Acacia Pet Clinic.

Tricia has a Chocolate Lab named Rufus.

Jamie Ryan
A recent graduate of the University of California at Davis, Jamie's studies included animal communication and behavior classes. Her lifelong love of animals has focused mainly on dogs and horses. Jamie's interest in natural horsemanship methods help refine her feel and timing, and she looks forward to applying these skills to methods learned with K9 Training Concepts.

Roger Therriault
Roger is the founder and Master Trainer for K9 Training Concepts. He has been training dogs for over 20 years, and has had classical training in five different methods including: American Kennel Club, United States Canine Academy, Schutzhund, The Kohler Method, and has worked extensively with the monks of New Skete method.

Roger believes that in addition to experience, being a good trainer requires a commitment to an open mind and a continual learning process that incorporates new ideas.

Roger currently has two dogs, Mago a mixed breed, and Coco a Belgian Malinois who is currently certified as a Human Remains Detection dog.
