Many Thanks to Elise - K9 Training Concepts!
Our mildly intense Border Collie Mix "Molly" went to summer camp with Elise for training.
Molly is a great dog but needed some real training. Not the stuff we see on TV ... but real direction so that she has a safe and happy life.
She is 1 year old ... a rescue ... took US on walks on a regular basis and almost pulled my wife Cindy's arm off whenever a lizard would run by. She is amazingly friendly ... would run up to anyone, hop in strangers cars, into the neighbors yards, and even took a few tours of the inside of the neighbors home (uninvited). We call her a puppy but she is now about 60 pounds and long-legged so when she runs up on people, then dont think she's a puppy. They think they are being attacked by a bouncing spazzy dog.
We took her to Elise for her training program and dropped her off in early July. We knew she would be gone for at least several weeks but knew it was best since she would be in our family for the next 15 years. The result ... miraculous.
- Molly came home as happy as ever. But one big difference is ... now she is trained and well behaved. Since she returned from training a month ago, she has never been on a leash but goes on walks every day. I can take her anywhere and she Heels on command, sits, stays, comes ... no matter what. 99% no hesitation. I took her to lunch last week and she stayed outside the restaurnat next to the table while I ordered my food. (I could see her through the window and was ready to go our if necessary ... I'm not crazy). I came back out and she just stayed by my feet til I was done. Molly loves her walks and now we can take her anywhere ... anytime ... and have complete confidence. Sometimes on a Heel ... Sometimes she is free to wander a little but that is also by design. She stays within about 20' and if I say "too far", she just rots back up to my side and we continue. Molly is still being trained by us and that is part of what Elise is teaching. Also, Elise helps us with questions, 1 0n 1 sessions, and is always available for a call or email.
I just want to say that this has been the most amazing and worthwhile investment I have ever made in a pet. For the first time in my life, I have a great dog that is happy, safe, and well behaved. Oh, she still loves her squeeky ball and all the old games she used to love.
Thanks Elise and K9 Training Concepts. .

Terry and "Cappucci", Cupertino

We loved our Jack Russell Terrier from the day we got her 4 years ago.  So much that we did not train her beyond puppy sessions for a few weeks, and she became in her mind a person equivalent.  Fine with us in our home and yard, but out of control once she left the property.

She has always bolted out the door, strained on the leash, and chased after anything that moved - people, bikes, dogs, birds, squirrels, rabbits, little kids, and neighbor lady's leg that she did bite.  She was no fun to take out in public, so we didn't.

Now she does come, sit, down, stay, heel, too far, ok, off, in your place.  I walk her daily on the side walks of public streets about a mile and a quarter to the park, off leash but with a few minor corrections in a half hour walk.  I did not imagine this possible 6 weeks ago.

The trainer knows when it is time for us to move on to the next level, or go back and repeat a step.  Because our dog's main issue was aggression to other dogs, especially female, the training was complete with an hour at the trainers', running through the field with a dozen of their dogs.

I tried the pet store training, advice from friends and family, and even on line books.  Waste of time and money.

Follow the trainer's instructions and do the weekly homework, and results will follow.
